Line & Motor Chokes

Line and Motor Chokes are inductive components used to protect variable speed drives and motors from electrical disturbances. Installed on the input (line choke) or output (motor choke) side, they help reduce harmonics, limit inrush current, and smooth voltage waveforms.

In motor control systems, chokes increase drive reliability by minimising the impact of network fluctuations and protecting against voltage spikes. They also extend motor and drive life, particularly in installations with long cable runs or unstable power supply.
